Coop cameras let you check on your flock remotely, catch predator activity in the act, and keep an eye on egg-laying patterns without opening the coop and disturbing the birds. Night vision and motion alerts matter most if a nighttime predator is the concern.
What to look for
- Night vision: most predator activity happens after dark, so this isn't optional if that's your concern.
- Motion alerts: real-time notifications matter more than passive recording if you want to intervene, not just review footage later.
- Field of view and mounting: a camera that only sees part of the coop will miss activity at the edges.
